Baby Love in a Traveler’s Notebook with Michelle Flynn

Hi friends, it’s Michelle, and I’m so happy to be here today to share how I am using the beautiful March 2022 kit and add-ons in a travelers notebook that I have been creating. You may have already seen me share the beginning of this travelers notebook, as I’ve been making it for my daughter and it’s just a sweet highlight of our grandson’s first months.

Supplies | March 2022 Kit, February 2022 KitMarch 2022 Labels, Love Notes Die Cuts, Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers – Sky BlueHeart and Star Chipboard Stickers – CoolPlay All Day Chipboard Stickers, Gold Heart Paper Clips, Love You Paper Stack, Cool Solids Paper Stack, Monthly Highlights Paper Stack, Monthly Numbers Stamp, Medium Jane Alphabet Metal Die, Love Notes Metal Die, Pocket, Frame and Flip-Up Metal Die

I started this layout by printing a full-size photo of my grandson in my arms for the left side of the spread. I trimmed off just over 2 inches from an 8 1/2 by 11 inch sheet of bright white cardstock which I scored in the middle to create a traveler’s notebook-sized page that would flip open. I thought the Monthly Highlights paper from the Monthly Highlights Paper Stack was just perfect for some added journal notes!  I adhered it inside the flip and I trimmed off just under an inch from the length of the flip so you could see the monthly highlight numbers peeking through.

Using the March 2022 Kit I chose a few of the pocket tags for the front side. I selected the navy blue and light teal paper from the Love You Paper Stack to create a simple border. I used the Pocket, Frame and Flip-Up Metal Die to create a frame flip-up with the pocket tags and to create additional room for a photo and journaling. That die is one of my absolute favorites, and if you’ve seen my layouts you probably already know that I use it all the time! It’s just the best!

I went through my die cuts from both the February 2022 Kit and the March 2022 Kit, as well as those sweet Heart and Star Chipboard Stickers for further embellishing to the front side of the layout.

With the highlight paper already adhered to the inside of my TN flip, I grabbed one of my favorites, the Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers! I am seriously loving the sky blue color of these new alphas. I used them to start my title, “Remember” and then I trimmed down one of the March 2022 Labels for the bottom of the page while tucking a die cut from the March Kit above it. I used one of my favorite stamps, the Monthly Numbers Stamp, to record the date.

While I still had my navy blue paper out from the Love You Paper Stack I thought it would be fun to use the large heart from the Love Notes Metal Die to create an open heart at the top of the right side of the flip. I used the Cool Solids Paper Stack with the new Medium Jane Alphabet Metal Die to complete my title inside the heart and below the photo. I added a gray die cut label from the Love Notes Die Cuts as an embellishment to tuck into the side of my photo on that page.

I love that I can use my monthly pocket tags and die cuts in both my pocket page albums and also in traveler’s notebooks! You’ll notice I’ve purposely left all of my journaling space open. Since being a new mommy doesn’t leave much time to journal or even create, I created this TN and layout with that in mind for my daughter to have open and available space as an opportunity for her to journal.

I hope this has inspired you in some small way to use your monthly kits in all forms of memory keeping!  Share your own inspiration from this release on Instagram using the #ellesstudio hashtag and join us in the Elle’s Studio Facebook Group for more fun!  Happy creating friends!
