Sketch Day with Sarah Kee

Hello, everyone! It’s me, Sarah on the blog, and today I wanted to share the latest Elle’s Studio sketch with all of you. I was inspired to create a 12 x 12 inch layout using pieces from my November 2021 kit and add-ons. More specifically, I wanted to focus on working with the Title Builder: The Merriest products!

First up, here’s the sketch I used:

Here’s what I came up with:

Supplies | November 2021 Kit, The Merriest Vellum Die Cuts, Holiday Fun Stickers, Red Cardstock Label Stickers, The Merriest Chipboard Stickers, Puffy Heart and Star Stickers, The Merriest Puffy Stickers, Wonder Paper StackA Merry Moment Stamp, Title Builder Vol. 5 The Merriest Stamp (sold out, but click notify me on the product page!), Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers – Gray, Home Sewn Stitches Stamp

For starters, I wanted to create a fun, stamped background for this layout. I used the heart from the Title Builder Vol. 5 The Merriest Stamp and the star clusters from the A Merry Moment Stamp. I repeatedly stamped in gray ink and red ink onto the white cardstock.

I followed the sketch almost exactly by layering and placing my pattered papers and photos in their designated spots. I especially love that this sketch uses two photos; anything to get those photos documented is a plus, right?!

For my title, I really wanted to incorporate the latest Title Builder products. I wanted to make my title stand out more, so I backed the “Christmas” vellum from The Merriest Vellum Die Cuts with one of the red patterned papers from the Wonder Paper Stack.

I also used the black “bring on the” banner from The Merriest Chipboard Stickers to add dimension to my title, and I love the look of it!

For the word “magic”, I used the Title Builder Vol. 5 The Merriest Stamp and added it below “Christmas” to complete my title. For my journaling, I used various phrases/sentiments from the Holiday Fun Stickers and stamps from both the The Merriest Stamp and the A Merry Moment Stamp.

I couldn’t resist creating cute little holly leaves and berries, so I again used the The Merriest Stamp. The three little circles on the stamp set create the berries. The holly leaves come in either an outline form or a shadow form. For my layout, I used the outline of the holly leaf. I layered them on top of Red Cardstock Label Stickers and added some fun puffy hearts from the Puffy Heart and Star Stickers.

Last, but not least, to add more dimension to my layout, I created embellishment clusters using various label stickers, pieces from The Merriest Chipboard Stickers, and vellum hearts from The Merriest Vellum Die Cuts.

That’s it for today! What’d you think? I had a blast using this sketch coupled with all of these fun new holiday products, and I think you will too! We’d love to see your projects using it, so have at it! Join us, and share your projects with us in our Elle’s Studio Facebook Group or on Instagram using the hashtag #EllesStudio.

As always, thanks for reading and letting me share my work here. It’s always a pleasure to be making pretty things with Elle’s Studio products!
