Puppy (and Die Cut) Love with Jennifer McMurtrey!

Hello friends!! It’s Jen today with a sweet layout featuring the new Smile Cardstock Die Cuts. This set is so cute with its photo frames, cameras, and sentiments that can be used on any type of project!

This Easter was the first time in over a year that we’ve been able to have family over. While we have seen each other briefly, this was our first family dinner since the start of the pandemic. I was certainly excited to see everyone, but I had no idea how happy Mildred was going to be during the visit. When our oldest daughter and her boyfriend arrived, Millie all but climbed into his lap showering him with kisses and hugs. It was so cute and you know I was taking pictures the entire time!

Supplies | Smile Cardstock Die Cuts, Teal Parker Acetate Alphabet Stickers, Acetate Heart Stickers, Love This Smile Stamp, Monthly and Daily Tab Stamp, Daily Tabs Stamp, Everyday Tabs Stamp

To create the background for this project, I used the smushing method to apply inks that match the die cut frames.

I chose to use three photos and cut them to fit behind the frames with the largest placed in the center of the page. On either side of the pictures, I added two more photo frames and used the Daily Tabs Stamp and Everyday Tabs Stamp to add sentiments inside each.

The new Acetate Heart Stickers are super cool, and I added these to each of the frames in coordinating colors.

To give the project more detail, I placed the “favorite photo” die cut on the center frame and stamped the date using the Monthly and Daily Tab Stamp.

Below the frames and photos, I used the Teal Parker Acetate Alphabet Stickers along with a green Acetate Heart Sticker to create the title. Just beneath the title, I added a bit of journaling to tell the story.

To anchor the layout, I used the negative pieces from the frame die cuts and added them to the top and bottom of the page. Last, I used a few more of the Smile Cardstock Die Cuts, adding cameras and a heart.

The Smile Cardstock Die Cuts are a new favorite in my Elle’s Studio collection, and I can’t wait to use them again! Be sure to pick up a set of your own and post your completed projects using the hashtag #EllesStudio on Instagram, or in our Elle’s Studio Facebook Group, so we are sure to see your creations.
