A Beautiful Day with Tracey Fox

Patterned paper is a supply that you can use in such a creative way on your projects. Die cut it, punch it, cut it, or texturize it to your liking to make something amazing! That’s what Tracey Fox did with our newest paper stack, Beautiful Day, and she’s with us today to share what she created, based off of a fun day of game playing!

Don’t you just love 6 x 6 papers? Elle’s Studio’s 6 x 6 paper stacks are such a fun way to have lots of scaled down, coordinating patterns that look great when used together on your scrapbook pages. The latest 6 x 6 paper stack, Beautiful Day, is especially awesome! I loved using the colorful papers to create a game board look on this layout documenting a day of games and movies with my best friend for Galentine’s Day.

I actually started with the title when making this page so that I would be able to build a design around it and the photos. I fussy cut out the script phrase “beautiful day” from the cover sheet of the 6 x 6 Paper Stack, popped it up on some foam adhesive, and paired it with the new Pink Puffy Alphabet Stickers and the wood veneer word “play” from the set of Play Wood Veneer Words. Don’t forget to take a look at your product packaging while you create, because you never know when it might come in handy on your pages!

Once I had my title and photos placed around the page, I used my paper trimmer to cut the 6 x 6 papers from the stack into a bunch small rectangles that I arranged in meandering curves around the layout, connecting the photos to each other as if they were stops along a fun and colorful game board!

I also grabbed the fun pie chart 3″ x 4″ tag from the May 2019 Kit and used my typewriter to add the names of the games my friend and I played during our fun day. My husband Dan saw the page as I was finishing it and had the brilliant idea that I should turn the pie chart into a spinner for the game board on my page! I stamped and cut out the arrow stamp from The Good Life Stamp set and placed it in the center of the pie chart with an enamel dot on top, and I love how it added another game-like element to my project!

To add some finishing touches on my page, I used three of the Hand Drawn Acrylic Hearts and a bunch of the pretty Everyday Goodness Epoxy Stickers from this month’s release to add more color and dimension to the layout.

I would love to see how you get creative with the Beautiful Day 6 x 6 Paper Stack! I hope you’ll share what you make in the Elle’s Studio Facebook group and use the #ellesstudio hashtag when you post your projects on social media. Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
