Viva Las Vegas Traveler’s Notebook with Heather Leopard

So far, we’ve seen projects using our Let’s Go Traveler’s Notebook Kit that document city breaks, beach holidays, and everything in between! Let’s take a look now at how design team member Heather Leopard is documenting her trip to Last Vegas, in such an awesome way:

Hi there. It’s Heather Leopard here with a look at a few pages of a traveler’s notebook I’m creating about a recent trip to Las Vegas with our great friends. I’m using the Let’s Go Traveler’s Notebook Kit, which is perfect for practically any trip you need to document.  I also added in a few extra embellishments from recent monthly kits.

I wanted to kick off the Vegas vibe by incorporating lots of color and flash on the cover. I stamped “VIVA” on a tag using the Stanley Alphabet Stamp in both the outline and the solid, and then added “Las Vegas” using the navy cardstock alphas in the kit. I also added a few things to glam it up, like the wood veneer stars from the kit and the Gold Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers. Then, I wanted to tease out what happened on the trip so I added the “What Happened?” sticker and trimmed it down to fit on the arrow label.

The first set of inside pages highlights each of the activities we did while in and around Vegas. This wasn’t your ordinary Vegas trip though. While we did a smidge of gambling, we focused on the shows, the food and the great outdoors.

Here, you can see the highlights of all the stops we made.  I used the Hazel Alphabet Stamp to stamp the main attractions and the “Favorite Stops” paper in the kit was such a super idea for capturing these highlights.

I printed a collage of photos from each of the stops as one 4″x6″ photo and placed it on the opposite page. I added the “Oh the places we go” script paper along with leftover paper strips from another pattern and a few embellishments to complete the page.

This next spread features a few photos I wanted to highlight about the best show I’ve ever seen in Vegas. I chose one photo to highlight on each side of the spread and tucked the rest in a pocket.

Inside this diagonal pocket holds photos of all the amazingness that was part of the show. I cut the pocket so that the yellows would form a continuous line and help bring both pages together, then topped the paper with various coordinating labels and stickers.

I still have tons of photos to add to this traveler’s notebook.  I’ll be sure to post them to my Instagram and do a flip through on my YouTube channel so you can see how the rest of the book came together!
