Documenting Paradise with Nathalie Leonelli

Our July Kit is versatile enough for your everyday memories, or a truly special trip. That’s what Nathalie Leonelli is documenting today with the kit, and she’s chosen the perfect tags and products from the latest release to make her photos, and the memories from her trip, SHINE! Let’s take a look:

I decided to include some highlights from a recent trip to Hawaii into my everyday 6″ x 12″ album and the July Kit and extras were a perfect match for my photos!

I went with a blue and orange color combination after pulling my two favorite tags from the kit: “Paradise” and “Highlight.” To add more blue, I also created a 3″ x 4″ tag using the Shine 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack. I love the new Jane Alphabet Stickers because they are just the right size and they look fantastic directly on photos!

And this spread has a little surprise…

Even though my quick getaway to Hawaii was only three days long, I really wanted to include more photos, so instead of using my usual 6″ x 12″ page protectors, I used a 12″ x 12″ protector that I folded in half. This is what it looks like when open:

You can do the same thing in a 6″ x 8″ album by cutting a 12″ x 12″ pocket into 8″ x 12″ and folding it (or by folding a 6″ x 8″ insert into a 3″ x 8″ album).
I created another tag with paper from the Shine 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack and the July Print and Cut Labels (which I used in several other places). This printable not only offers an unlimited supply of labels but is also perfect to add a matching touch of color on your spreads.

Here are a few prompts/ideas for your next pocket page project:
1. Include a map. I love maps and they add a great visual!
2. Place alpha stickers directly on your photos
3. Add more photos and more journaling using a folded insert
4. Create a journaling tag using multiple labels

One last bit of advice; if you document weekly or monthly, don’t worry about breaking the mould and spending more time on a specific event or trip. There’s no rule and I believe breaking the rhythm makes the overall album more interesting in the end.

Happy scrapping! Enjoy your July Kit and goodies!
