Today, Wendy Antenucci is joining us to share how layered the fun and colorful 6″ squares with the rest of the new product this month to create a beautiful page about the people she loves most. Let’s see what she made!
It’s Wendy here today for my first blog post at Elle’s Studio; I am so excited for the chance to share with all of you! I love 6″ x 6″ paper pads as they lend themselves to layering, they are perfect for cards, just the right size for pockets pages, and so much more! I really love that they give me the freedom to play without cutting into a full piece of paper.

Today I had fun layering with the XOXO 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack! I began my page by picking three 6″ x 6″ squares that I liked together and laid them on my paper. After choosing a photo that would work with the colors and design in my head I trimmed a few of the pieces down so that all the colors and patterns could be seen.
I begin all of my pages with a “photo block”; in this case it would be my photo and the 6″ x 6″ papers that I layered together. To anchor my photo block I again turned to my XOXO 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack for two pieces that would anchor and not overwhelm my otherwise colorful page, and the gray heart “XO” pattern was perfect to add that neutral element to the background. Using two 6″ x 6″ pages together made it look like a 6″ x 12″ strip of patterned paper.
A few fun pieces from the Love You Die Cuts were the quick and easy finishing touches to my page. Once my page is done, I then like to add in my journaling, usually a few lines with just my handwriting to tell the story. I love the XOXO Stamp, as it has tiny sayings and graphics that add to the details of the page, but don’t take away from the overall design as seen with this phrase and arrow.
