Document December Prep with Meghann Andrew

Hey there, friends! It’s Meghann Andrew with you today. December is almost upon us, and since the holiday season is usually a busy time, I’m doing a bit of prep work on my Document December project in advance.

Since I’m having some storage issues with the abundance of mini albums I’ve made in the past, I’ve decided to put my December documentation in my normal 12″ x 12″ monthly pocket page album, but the month of December will be much more comprehensive than the previous months. Although I have a general idea of how I want my pages to look, I’m not one to lay it out in advance without my photos. So, I turned to my Document December Kit, along with my favorite technique, stamping, to do a bit of prep work!

First, I wanted to fill a few pockets for my title page to introduce the month in my album, and set these pages apart from the rest of the months of my year. The lovely script “December” 4″ x 6″ tag from the Document December Kit was perfect for the page, and I simply added the “create wonder, share joy” saying from the Document December Stamp in red below. I also added a red acrylic star and a few sequins from the kit for some sparkle. Below that, I wanted to set the colorway for my project on the 3″ x 4″ tags below. I chose the multicolored chevron, then simply added the “memories” chipboard circle from the Document December Kit. To the right, I created my own 3″ x 4″ tag using plain white cardstock and the Stanley Numbers Stamp. These numbers are just perfect for this project!

Speaking of numbers—did you know that the numbers in the Dated Stamp fit perfectly in these lovely little date tags included in the Document December Kit? I love using the same format to mark the date for each day I document, so getting these little labels stamped through the 25th is the perfect way to save a bit of time before the busy month arrives. I used black ink and stamped all of my dates in before cutting them apart so they’re ready to go into my album.

The Lil’ Snippet Labels included in the Document December Kit are also perfect for stamping in advance! I grabbed the Holiday Plans Stamp and started stamping the sayings that I knew I would use with green, red and black ink before cutting them apart to include in the perfect spot on my project.

After cutting apart, I added all of my stamped tags to my acrylic tray that includes my project embellishments so that I remember to add them to my album. To prep the remainder of my product from the Document December Kit, I removed all of the project packaging and added the patterned paper, tags, and stickers to an acrylic tray, which I will store on the top shelf of my Raskog cart, just an arm length away from my workspace next to my Stanley Number, Dated, Holiday Plans and Document December stamps!
