Good Times with Mixed Media and Guest Vicki Boutin

We are excited to welcome Vicki Boutin back today to share another beautiful layout that combines our October exclusives, Family Fun collection and her signature mixed-media style. Let’s take a look at what she created for us this week!

I am super excited to be back again with my second project for October! I decided I wanted to create another scrapbook layout with a mix of the October Kit and add-ons, along with the Family Fun collection.

Elle’s Studio Supplies | October 2017 Kit, October Labels, So Cozy Stamp, Puffy Heart Stickers, Days of the Week Stamp, Family Fun Bits and Pieces, Family Fun Puffy Stickers,  Family Fun 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection

Vicki Boutin Mixed-Media Supplies | Set Two Art Crayons

I started with a mixed media background using my Vicki Boutin Art Crayons.

I used a simple “drag” technique with an old gift card.  Add the crayon to the card, add water with a paintbrush and drag the card across the page.  I also rubbed some of the crayon without water on the page.  This is a fun and easy way to add a little paint to your projects.

Here is a closer look at the painted background.

I didn’t want to cover up the pretty painted background so, I cut a few leaves and an arrow using cut files and my Silhouette.  I love how the leaves add height, pattern and visual interest!  I stamped “hello” from the Days of the Week Stamp to tie in the orange.

The title is layered with the “good times” Family Fun Bits and Pieces, Family Fun Puffy Stickers and an October Label. Don’t forget foam squares!  I love 3D foam adhesive!

This page came together quite easily and it combines my loves: mixed media, patterns, color, good photos and great PRODUCT!  Love my Elle’s Studio!!!

Vicki Boutin has been paper crafting and documenting life with her husband and son and daughter since 2001.  She aspires to find time to create something everyday and she loves to play with paper, pocket scrapping, altered art, card making, stamping and photography. Layers and layers of inks, paints, stencils and stamps with a sprinkle of something shiny all culminate to create what Vicki likes to refer to as ECLECTIC FUNK. If it has layers, lots of color and it was fun to make than that’s where you will find this mixed media paper crafter!

Check back next week, when Vicki will share her last project with us as the October guest designer, but until then, you can find her on her YouTube channel, where she shares mixed-media techniques using her products!
