Documenting Brunch Love with the Foodie Mini Collection

Hi! It’s Meghann here with you today. As a self-professed lover of food, I’m pretty excited about the new Foodie mini collection, now available in the Elle’s Studio shop, and perfect for documenting all of your food adventures. Today I’d like to share a page about my favorite weekend meal, created with this new collection, some of Elle’s best exclusives and the Family Fun collection.

My layout began with a photo of one of my favorite brunch treats: homemade French toast topped with lots of fresh berries. My color scheme of red, pink and blue was pulled from the colors in my photo, and I decided to add the neutrals white, gray and woodgrain. Before I laid out my elements, I decided to use paper number 2 from the Family Fun 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection, which has floating lined circles on the background. To this, I added the circular stamps from the Foodie Stamp, stamping in both blue and red.

From there, I began building my layers, adding the woodgrain paper and the 6″ x 6″ chevron print from the Family Fun 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack behind a horizontal row of Foodie Journaling Tags with my photo in the middle. The right “food adventures” tag housed my journaling, which I added in Photoshop Elements. I then added a stamped label with the word “brunch” (which I created by using “br” from “breakfast” and “unch” from “lunch!), and the “love” die cut from the Family Fun Bits and Pieces.

The bottom edge of the woodgrain paper seemed like the perfect place to add my title. I stamped “brunch” in blue ink onto patterned papers from the Family Fun 6″ x 6″ Paper Stack and fussy-cut them out, adhering them directly to my layout. Below that, I added a blue August Label, which I stamped “is my” onto with the Title Builder Stamp, then “jam” with alphabet stickers. I wanted to add a small amount of pink to this grouping, so I grabbed the pink heart sticker from the Extraordinary Sticker Labels, adding it below the blue label, the other part that I cut off went up to my blue journaling tag.

The Foodie Puffy Stickers are so fun! With lots of different words and sayings in gray, white and black, they’re the perfect addition to our foodie pages! I had to use the “get in my belly” puffy circle, and I used it to top the ribbon die cut from the Family Fun Bits and Pieces. Above that, I topped the cutlery journaling tag with the red and pink heart from the bits and pieces, sewing on top to add some interest.
