Home Sweet Home Mini Album + Process Video with Jamie Leija

One thing we love about Family Fun is how many different subjects you can document with this collection. From loved ones to special places, you will love telling your stories with these products! Today, Jamie Leija is with us to share a special mini album all about her new home, and she’s included a process video, too! Let’s take a look.

Hiya! It’s Jamie, and today I’m so excited to share my latest favorite project, a mini pocket page album all about the first year in our new home. I had no idea when I started this project that I would love it this hard! Or that it would come together so quickly.

I decided to use a 6″ x 8″ album and divided page protectors for this project. Once I printed my photos, it was so easy to slip them in pockets and then embellish throughout. My title page is a double page, with one 6″ x 8″ and one 3″ x 8″ page protector. I love the pop of color that the awesome chevron patterned paper from the Family Fun 12″ x 12″ Paper Collection adds to the front of the album.

The next page was a photo collage of all of the photos pulled from the online listing of the house and then printed onto vellum, then topped with the “home sweet home” die cut from the Family Fun Bits and Pieces. Just something extra for visual interest!

I used a mix of products from the Family Fun collection but mainly the Journaling Tags, Puffy Stickers and Bits and Pieces.

The photos themselves are fairly neutral, which is why it was so much fun to utilize the great range of colors in the Family Fun collection! I always love a good rainbow stripe!

I put together a process video to show the start to this album. I did zero pre-planning before sitting down to film this. I had my photos and the page protectors and the collection—that was it. I started by sorting my photos into an order I thought would work, mainly dividing them up by room. Then I added in journaling tags. After that I went back and embellished. You’ll see all of this in the video below.

After filming, I went tag by tag and wrote out my journaling, then finalized the embellishment. I ended up with quite a bit of journaling, which is one of the reasons why I’m loving this project so much. I said a lot and still have more to say! Stay tuned for updates about this album. You’ll notice I only worked on the first 10 pages. I’ve already added additional photos and pages!

Cheers,
Jamie
