Blue-Green Balance with Candace Perkins

Sometimes two beautiful colors is all you need to pull a pocket page spread together, and today Candace Perkins is showing us how pairing only blue and turquoise with neutrals can create the perfect, balanced pocket page layout. Let’s see what she made!

Hello friends! Welcome back! It’s Candace with you to share week one of my 2017 pocket pages. Now, I am not this far behind! What I like to do is print out my photos weekly and stick them in the pockets. Then, when I find the perfect tags and embellishments I complete the spread. I like this format because it keeps things interesting and fresh. It also cuts down on the time it takes me to complete the spread by having the photos all printed and ready to go!

Now, for this weeks spread. I used the photos as the color inspiration for the spread. I built my spread with dark blues, mint, gray and wood grain.

I started with the title card for the week and stamped this weeks dates with black StazOn ink, using the Dated Stamp. To bring a little color to the card I added a blue puffy sticker from the Family Fun collection.

I love the two tags on the left side of the spread that leave a little spot for a 2″ x 2″ photo and journaling. This allowed me to add more photos and words to my spread. My favorite tag on the left side of the spread is definitely the world map 4″ x 6″ tag (swoon) from the Travelogue Journaling Tags.

The color and map are just perfection and there is even a small spot to add notes! I marked on the map where my husband went that week for business along with a photo collage.

On the right side of the spread I balanced the colors by adding a few blue elements like the blue star Acrylic Button and the “love my family” blue Family Fun Double-sided Journaling Tag along with a gray journaling tag from the Foodie Journaling Tags in the center.

To add a interest to the Acrylic Button I weaved a bit of white embroidery floss through the holes.

I love the look and contrast of the Foodie Puffy Stickers on top of my candy photo!

One of my favorite parts to include in my weekly spread is memorabilia. This week I included a picture my little guy drew for me. For my journaling I used the Family Fun Stamp as a title and ran the journal card through the typewriter.

This was such a fun spread to put together and all the new items from Elle’s Studio were the perfect match! Make sure you stop by the shop to pick up the new Family Fun Collection & September Kit and extras! Have a beautiful day!
