Documenting the 4th of July with Laura Hager

We are excited to have Laura Hager with us today sharing how she was able to document the 4th of July holiday with a couple of tags and die cuts from of our July kit and some embellishments from our coordinating add-ons! Let’s take a peek!

Hey there! I’m Laura and I’m back to show you how I used the July kit and add-ons to create a Fourth of July layout! I was starting to print my photos, when I realized that my printer was out of ink. I only ended up being able to print one picture. I decided to use this as a creative challenge and to try to make the layout out of mostly journaling tags. This month’s kit was so fun! It was so bright and colorful. The whole kit wasn’t Fourth of July themed, but it had the perfect amount of red, white and blue. I collected all the pieces that had those three colors and started working on the layout!

Jen Chapin’s layout inspired me to use the cork tag and the acrylic star. This was my starting point for the layout. I only had one 4 x 6 inch picture, so I knew I needed to use that. I pulled out the 4 x 6 journaling tag from the July kit. The stripes were visible through the cork tag, so I added white card stock to hide the lines on the card under the star.

The little stars in the Summer puffy stickers were perfect for adding extra details to the layout. I used the red and blue ones around the page. I love adding little details to make the page come together.

I used a gray list card from the July kit to document some special moments from this past holiday. My typewriter isn’t working, so I used a stamp and ink to make the words. Situations like this can be a little tedious, but the effort can always be seen in the work.

This holiday was such a fun day with my family! It was so fun to document. I always love using the Elle’s Studio products, because they are so cheerful! What will you be documenting with your July Kit?
