Reliving Adventures with Jamie Leija

Sometimes, adventures that we’ve taken are just too great to forget, but while we may take photos during our vacations and experiences, they often end up on a digital hard drive, or tucked away in a photo box. Today Jamie Leija is reliving a trip that she took to Budapest by creating a pocket page using the May 2017 Kit and add-ons, and we couldn’t love the outcome more! Let’s see what she created.

Hiya, it’s Jamie and today I’m sharing a 12″ x 12″ pocket page— a continuation of the projects I made for the May reveal. Once I got started with those photos and that kit, I just couldn’t quit!

You may notice that I used one of the Hexagon Filler cards from the 1 Product 3 Ways Hexagon Wood Veneer blog post from last month. It was just too perfect to not include on this spread.

The first two pages I created about this day featured the bike ride we took around the city. This is a bit of a wrap on that day and features a few extra photos plus the last shot (pun intended) of the day.

I wanted to keep playing with color on the spread and so I did something a little different. Essentially, I broke down the page into two 6″ x 12″ columns. On the left side I only used blues and greens—the die cuts, stickers, journaling tags and sequins are all in that color scheme. So on the right side I stuck with red, yellow and orange. I was able to include plenty of color all over the spread by adding die cuts and stickers directly to the photos themselves.

The journaling on the first two pages was all about the bike ride. But on this page, I focused on the beautiful weather and also my travel partners. I’d take another trip with this group in a heartbeat!

It was so much fun to re-visit this experience. It’s one of the reasons why I love scrapbooking so much. I get to relive some of the best days of my life over again as I was making the page and will do so again and again every time I see this in my album.
