Sunshine Girl by Meghann Andrew

Hi there, Elle’s Studio fans! It’s Meghann with you today to share a layout completely inspired by the April exclusive kit + add-ons.

I’m always looking for opportunities to document baby photos of my daughter, and when I saw the “remember when” tag from the kit, I knew I wanted to add my journaling to this tag. Next, I pulled all of the tags that were red, pink, yellow, orange and grey, and went to the April digital cut files folder to see what I could find to add to the layout. The sun cut file made me remember this photo, already saved in my “favorites” folder on my computer.

I cut the sun from yellow cardstock, printed my photo just slightly smaller than the diameter of the sun, and cut it into a circle, adhering it to the sun. Adding the striped 4” x 6” tag from the April kit to the left side of the sun made the photo the focal point of the layout.

I went back to my “remember when” tag, and cut it into a circle. I typed my journaling into a circle on Photoshop Elements, printed it onto an 8-1/2”  x 11” piece of paper, then adhered the tag to the paper and printed again. I adhered the tag to the bottom left of my photo, and embellished with the “you make me so very happy” tag from the April kit, vellum pinked circle from the Little Moments bits & pieces, and a heart, cut from paper in the Little Moments 6” x 6” paper stack. I topped this with the “favorite” sticker from the Good Stuff puffy stickers.

To create a third circular element on the page, I punched a circle from the floral 6” x 6” patterned paper from the Little Moments 6” x 6” paper stack, topped it with a heart from the Little Moments bits and pieces pack, and the “love” puffy sticker.

To balance the photo and sun die-cut at the top right of the layout, I stamped my title, first in multicolor with the Jordan alphabet outline stamp, then in light yellow with the Jordan alphabet solid stamp, just slightly off-centered. To this title, I added the “happiness is” stamp from the The Story Of stamp  an “A” with the light grey letter and number stickers, and the word “girl” with a script font to contrast the stamped title.

Now I have another favorite photo documented in my album, completely inspired by tags and the sun cut file! What tags from the kit are calling to you to tell your stories?
