a89d1265a0a8ca8a26fbbab40857d1a1We asked our team to use the pin above as inspiration for a layout and here’s what two of our design team members came up with!

First up is Toni From:EllesStudio-ToniFrom01Toni says: I am completely in love with the inspirational pin. I have a photograph of my studio that I have been waiting for the right creative push to scrapbook, and this pin was perfect! The vibrant circles and subtle patterns just make me happy and excited to experiment. I chose a literal take on the circles, but only used them along the bottom (to help ground the layout) and another slightly-larger circle in one of the words at the top of the layout. This helps the layout flow and brings your eye around the page.

To create the circles I punched one-inch shapes from some of the more neutral Elle’s Studio papers in the Shine, Sycamore Lane, and Cienna collections. I paired the patterned papers with watercolored circles. I then adhered the watercolored half-circles to the patterned paper with adhesive and then stitched over everything.

EllesStudio-ToniFrom02Once the circles were finished I adhered my large photo to my layout and handout letters from the Shine, Sycamore Lane, and Cienna paper collections. Next, I starting adding some small embellishments in small clusters. I used wood veneer, tidbits, cork, and some enamel dots and puffy stickers from my stash. I love how all of these different textures (along with the machine stitching) play off one another and make the layout interesting.

Thanks so much for looking at my layout today. I know that you will love my fellow DT member Jessy’s take on the inspirational pin.

Next up we have Jessy Christopher:helloeasterJessy says: I absolutely adore the colorful circles in the photo & decided to create a circle cut file for my layout. My circles have a gap in between. That way I can slot the patterned papers to fill in. The colors in Cienna collection went so well with my daughter’s photos. And the cute elements that I placed all around the layout is just perfect.
