Using tags as journaling prompts

EllesStudio-Journaling-Toni1Today we have Toni sharing a beautiful layout with us and showing us how she uses her journaling tags as prompts for her projects! Toni says “I was looking for a way to document how I was going to implement the word Step (my One Little Word) into a layout. The January kit is chalked full of all kinds of die cuts that will work for just about any topic. One of my favorite ways to use the tags is for actual journaling. Shocking I know! The “This year I solemnly swear to try my best to:” tag worked perfectly for my topic. I also used the arrow die cut from the January Kit to draw the reader’s eye to the photo and journaling on my layout.”

EllesStudio-Journaling-Toni2 “I incorporated the Sycamore Lane paper collection into this layout to coordinate with the green in the card. I love this collection because it is just so darn colorful and fun. I couldn’t help myself and cut up a bunch of the papers and made a grid layout with some of my favorites. I was able to include 6 different patterns in this layout, but they still all go together. I hand cut the title “Step,” added some machine stitching, a few enamel dots and some yellow twine from my stash, and the number stickers and I was done. This was a fun and simple layout to complete.”

“I hope this layout inspires you to use the awesome tags on your next project as a jump start for a story you are wanting to tell. ”
