Why did you start scrapbooking and how did you get started?
I started after I got married in 1999.  My sister in law was scrapbooking and she gifted me a wedding album at my bridal shower.  After I finished my wedding album I moved along to documenting family stuff like trips, holidays, etc.  Since switching to Project Life I find I document those big events but also a lot more of the everyday things that I’ve comet to realize are just as important as the birthdays and holidays.

What are three products you can’t live without?

My Tonic Paper trimmer, I’m obsessed with things being straight and true so this item is key for me.  My Silhouette Cameo, the best decision I ever made,  I get a toni fuse out if it and I love it.  Photoshop Elements, I do every bit of edition and creating on it and I literally cannot scrapbook without it.

Where do you scrapbook?

I have a small loft area on the second floor of our house that’s completely open to the downstairs.  I love it because I have my desk area with my computer and a large standing counter with storage underneath that my husband built for me.  It’s all right here and compact and it’s perfect for me.

What’s your favorite color combination?

Pretty much anything paired with gold metallic.  Lately I’ve been very partial to neon pink and gold but since it’s Christmas time I’ve been all about red and gold.

Do you record every moment or just special ones?
I’m a firm believer in capturing it all.  I’ve been known to put some not so happy faced photos of my daughter in my albums and if something really touches me even in a sad way I figure it’s what I should be documenting.

We are giving away Barbara’s favorite Elle’s Studio Products!
