Project Life Special Guest: Stephanie Bryan

Welcome to another week of Project Life at Elle’s Studio.  We are pleased to introduce you to you today our Project Life Special Guest: Stephanie Bryan.

Stephanie lives in North Carolina with her husband and two kids, Anna (4) and Drew (2).  She loves all things creative and has a slight obsession with paper and photography.   She started out with memory keeping through Project Life in 2011 and has not looked back.  Her style is simple, but classic with some occasional fun pops of color.  As of January this year, she has found a love for recording memories through traditional scrapbooking.

I began noticing Stephanie’s Project Life spreads and layouts in our Member Gallery recently and each one became an instant favorite.  I was floored to learn she just began traditional scrapbooking in January of 2013.  She is a natural!

1.  When and why did you start Project Life?

I started Project Life at the beginning of 2011 after I found myself wanting to record the memories of my then two year old daughter and newborn son.  I lost my mom when I was 19, and hafted having my two kids, I knew I wanted to document our everyday, our journey, our goods and our bars.  Plus I tend to take a lot of pictures and I wanted my family to be able to enjoy them.  I stumbled across the Project Life system and immediately fell in love.

2.  What do you love about Project Life?

I love that Project Life tells our story.  I love that it has pictures of my son’s first stamps, my two kids playing together, our trips, my daughter’s first dentist appointment… basically it’s our memories kept nice and neatly in a book.

3.  Any tips on keeping up or catching up in your album?

Keep it simple and keep it fun.  Most of my weeks are pretty much the same except for the pictures.  I have a system that works for me.  Putting together my week is just.plain.fun.  I love it.  And I look forward to it!  I think the key is to make it “yours”.  Don’t worry about keeping up with it every week… if you miss a week, then just move on to the next.  Years from now you will be glad that you have the memories you do have, and you won’t remember the weeks you missed.

4.  How do you make time for Project Life?

I keep my Project Life album out and open in my craft room.  I find myself there a few times each day, so I try to print off a picture when I can or write down some little notes about our week.   Then I usually try to find some time on Sunday afternoon to put my week together.
